Our Process

Collection of Stem Cells
EquStem makes the entire process easy. We will arrange to ship all of the forms, supplies and the collection kits directly to the site of the customer’s choice. The kit includes everything necessary to harvest equine umbilical cord blood.

Stem Cells Processing
Once the blood has been collected, the kit is immediately shipped back to EquStem’s processing laboratory, where the stem cells are separated and processed.

Storage of Stem Cells
The stem cells are cryogenically frozen and held at -196 degrees Centigrade in storage for potential future use..

When an animal sustains an injury that requires stem cell therapy, the cells will be readied for shipment to the site. EquStem will provide a kit with the necessary supplies for the stem cell injection procedure. When the stem cells are implanted into the injured tendons, ligaments, or joints they rapidly infill the defect and improve the linear fiber pattern as the tissue heals and regenerates.
