Collection of Stem Cells
EquStem makes the entire process easy. We will arrange to ship all of the forms, supplies and the collection kits directly to the site of the customer’s choice. The kit includes everything necessary to harvest bone marrow or umbilical cord blood.

Stem Cell Processing
When the bone marrow or blood has been collected, it is immediately shipped back to EquStem’s processing laboratory, where the stem cells are separated and processed.  A 2-week period is necessary to grow the cells for shipment to the veterinarian or to be placed in storage.

Storage of Stem Cells
The stem cells are cryogenically frozen and held at -196°C in storage for potential future use..

When an animal sustains an injury that requires stem cell therapy, the cells will be readied for shipment to the site. When the stem cells are implanted into the injured tendons, ligaments, or joints they rapidly infill the defect and improve the linear fiber pattern as the tissue heals and regenerates.
